Happy New Year 2010!

Another year gone by, but for us a pivotal year that meant a completely new direction for 42live. After many years of loose projects we are now in Berlin and taking our first steps towards something more substantial. It’s been ups and downs but every time I see the founding date of this domain, January 2002, I think that in these 7 years of various disguises and themes, 42live has survived well and Berlin is exactly the right place and time to take our collaborators’ work to the masses.

So, on behalf of us at 42live I would like to thank everyone that has shown interest and supported this collective so far, and take the opportunity to wish all and everyone a great new year — 2010!  With this our goal is to establish ourselves with Berlin as a base, and to produce our first real live exhibition in summer 2o10!  All this is still in the planing stage but until then, thanks for being there and may the next year be as creative and inspiring as 2009 was for this collective!

Swedish painter and contemporary artist Saga Ljunglöf is presenting her watercolor series “Reduced Landscapes” for the first time here at 42live! The 13 paintings depict landscapes in miniature and play with the notion of that landscape imagery always need to big and bold, as well as, exploring how far a painting can be reduced in size and still convey the idea of a landscape.

The logo contest?

So, what happened to the logo contest you may ask? Well, we fell victims to the lack of time from our side. Being a loose collective means that when times get harder people are busy working on their own projects, and with side things like the Ida Nowhere space and the upcoming photo studio, we […]

Another arts meetup in Berlin behind us!

End of summer season, rain showers and a anti-nuclear power demo hit back on us this time with a only a few people showing up. Setbacks aside, we did enjoy the Ostzeit exhibition at Haus Der Kulturen Der Welt very much and it is indeed a great work of documentary photography from the former DDR. […]

Recently I have become involved in several projects of urban photography, mainly architectural and graffiti stuff. For those who know me it comes as no surprise that I have a certain fascination for decay as part of natural urban evolution.
